Test Event 2

Whether it is planting beach grass, cleaning up debris or sprucing up buildings with fresh coats of paint, JBRPC relies on dedicated volunteers like you to protect and enhance Jamaica Bay and the Rockaway parks. With more than 10,000 acres of parkland, there is no shortage of ways to make an impact!

Projects vary and can be geared toward individuals, families or groups. If you would like to get involved, please visit our partners at NYC Parks, the National Park Service and the American Littoral Society, and check back regularly for additional opportunities, including processing beach grass from our Beach Grass Nursery in the early winter and planting the processed beach grass on dunes next spring.

New York State Beach Cleanup with the American Littoral Society

This year marks the American Littoral Society's 29th Annual New York State Beach Cleanup. Last year in New York alone, 5,954 volunteers cleaned 173.25 miles of coastline, and documented and removed 57,604 pounds of debris. Let's clean even more this year!
