Jamaica Bay is New York City’s largest and most ecologically productive open space — an unparalleled oasis of nature covering 44 square miles of open water, tidal wetlands, and coastal parklands altogether twice the size of Manhattan — serving more than three million people who live in southeastern Brooklyn and Queens, and millions more annual visitors.

Since our founding in 2013, JBRPC has removed more than 50 tons of trash and debris from shorelines and parks, planted more than 425,000 native plants and trees, and hosted more than 120,000 people at public programs and events – including our signature Jamaica Bay Festival. We've organized more than 200 stewardship events that drew support from more than 3,500 dedicated volunteers, and welcomed 15,000 students into our environmental education programs. We led the planning, design, and construction of Jamaica Bay’s first living shoreline, and are advancing other nature-based initiatives across our catchment area.

JBRPC is currently advancing a major transformation of Hangars 3 & 4 at Floyd Bennett Field as a hub for community engagement, recreation, education and workforce training, and development of nature-based solutions for the benefit of local communities and visitors alike.

Your gift will ensure that the natural, recreational, historical and cultural resources of parklands in Jamaica Bay and the Rockaway peninsula are preserved for generations to come — all donations go directly toward supporting our parks, including JBRPC’s free public and education programs, and capital projects.

As a unique public-private partnership that works across city, state and federal agencies, Jamaica Bay-Rockaway Parks Conservancy (JBRPC) was established in 2013 to bring together diverse community stakeholders, elected officials, academic researchers and others toward a common goal: improving public parklands for enjoyment and ecosystem health

JBRPC is a partner project of the Fund for the City of New York (EIN 13-2612524), which serves as its fiscal sponsor. Both JBRPC and the Fund are tax-exempt organizations under section 501(c)(3) of the federal tax code, so your contribution is tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.
