Elizabeth Stoehr

Elizabeth Stoehr is Deputy Director of the Jamaica Bay-Rockaway Parks Conservancy (JBRPC), a public-private partnership working across federal, state, and city parklands in Jamaica Bay and the Rockaway Peninsula. She helps lead workforce development, adaptive management, and the implementation of nature-based solutions that restore shorelines and support community resilience. For over a decade, Elizabeth has worked to expand career pathways in the environmental field, including helping to develop the Jamaica Bay Wetlands Fellowship—a program that trains and employs local young adults to monitor, maintain, and adaptively manage the bay’s dynamic coastal ecosystems. She also leads JBRPC’s growing focus on emerging nature technologies, including test pilots, cross-sector partnerships, and the advancement of scalable policies and funding models. This work will anchor the future Nature Tech Hub at Floyd Bennett Field, a space dedicated to accelerating innovation in nature-based solutions and nature tech. Elizabeth also supports efforts in public engagement, ecological restoration, education, and cross-agency collaboration—ensuring that community voices remain central to the future of Jamaica Bay.
