Shannon Kavanagh

Shannon Kavanagh is an illustrator and author based in New York. Shannon’s work employs inky lines and bright colors to depict themes of history, science and nature. From ink and watercolor portraits of women in the medicine to block-printed posters of American wildlife, she aims to make non-fiction subject matter more accessible and palatable for audiences of all ages. When she is not making art, Shannon is an avid reader and loves embroidery and cross-stitch. Shannon recently received her M.F.A. in Illustration from the Fashion Institute of Technology and holds her B.F.A. in Technical Theatre & Design from Brooklyn College.
