Terri Carta
Terri Carta is Executive Director of Jamaica Bay-Rockaway Parks Conservancy (JBRPC), a unique public-private partnership that works with city, state and federal agencies to improve 44 square miles of public parklands and natural areas across Jamaica Bay and the Rockaway peninsula. Terri and the JBRPC team advance initiatives for public engagement, education, stewardship, workforce development, and a growing portfolio of capital projects, including the reactivation of Floyd Bennett Field as a destination for community events and outdoor recreation, and a new Nature Tech Hub to address the needs of surrounding communities. Terri formerly served as Executive Director at Brooklyn Greenway Initiative, Associate Vice President at Central Park Conservancy, and in a Natural Resources Management role with the Peace Corps in Guinea, West Africa. She earned a M.S. in Ecological Teaching and Learning and a B.S. in Conservation Biology. Terri lives in Rockaway with her son.
