Join the Brooklyn Bird Club for a birding and shoreline cleanup event at Plumb Beach, supported by the Jamaica Bay–Rockaway Parks Conservancy.
We’ll focus on removing debris from the beach and surrounding areas; cleanup tools will be provided. Bring sturdy shoes, weather-appropriate layers, and—if you have them—binoculars and keen eyes for spotting both birds and trash.
Brooklyn Bird Club members will be attending to help with bird spotting and identification throughout the morning, though the primary focus of the event will be the cleanup rather than a formal birding walk.
Cleanup led by Audrey Dalton.
Transportation: If you don’t have a car but would like to attend, Brooklyn Bird Club will coordinate carpools once registration closes. Please indicate if you need or can offer a ride when you sign up.
Registration: Opens March 8, 2026 and closes March 27, 2026, or when capacity is reached. Email audreykdalton@gmail.com to reserve a spot.
Attendance is capped at 30 participants.
The meeting location will be in front of the Purple Roundhouse. Portable restrooms are on site, but volunteers are encouraged to use the restroom beforehand.
